Gatchalian reacted on Twitter to Politiko’s article on Echiverri being caught on his laptop’s camera sleeping during a Zoom meeting, titled, “aTulo laway pa! RJ Echiverri caught dozing off in Zoom hearing.”
“What kind of a public servant is this? This is very disrespectful to the institution,” the senator said.
Echiverri was seen fast asleep during the virtual hearing held Friday (May 22) by the Joint Congressional Energy Commission, which was co-chaired by Gatchalian.
The DILG official’s napping was seen by lawmakers and other officials present at the hearing. Some netizens who saw the video pointed out that he appeared to wipe off the drool at the side of his mouth when he woke up.
