Bawal mamasyal! Non-essential activities still banned under GCQ – Palace

By Prince Golez

All non-essential travel remains prohibited in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ), Malacañang reminded the public.

The movement of people is limited to accessing essential goods and for work, according to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.

Wala pa rin po tayong pasyal-pasyal,” Roque said in an interview on radio DZMM.

The Palace official said the lockdown measures are meant slow the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) as there is still no available vaccine that can cure the disease.

Under GCQ, any person below 21 years old, those who are 60 years old and above, those with immunodeficiency, comorbidities, or other health risks, and pregnant women are required to remain in their residences at all times.

They, however, may leave home to buy food and medicine or for work.
