President Rodrigo Duterte assured the Filipino people that God goes with them during this time of pandemic.
In his speech aired on state-owned PTV-4 Tuesday, Duterte asked everyone to face coronavirus (Covid-19) with self-sacrifice as he reminded Christ’s self-sacrifice on the cross.
“Ang importante talaga dito is your perseverance. You must persevere during this time. Simplihan ko, patience. Tutal dadating din yan. Marunong ang Diyos. Alam nya na ‘di nya tayo papabayaan, especially Pilipinas kasi Kristiyano tayo,” the Chief Executive said.
“Magsakrapisyo lang tayo ng konti tutal ang ating idol nagsakripsyo rin. Pinaghahampas hampas, ipinako pa sa krus. Tayo pasimba-simba man lang, luluhod ka lang diyan. So, dedicate it to the Lord that you also suffer for the country,” he also said.
Prior to this, Duterte reiterated the importance of wearing masks and social distancing to stem the spread of Covid-19.
