Reklamo pa more! Bong Go to go after netizens spreading fake news on him ‘to teach them a lesson’

Senator Christopher “Bong” Go will continue seeking law enforcers’ help to go after netizens who spread fake and malicious posts about him even if he has been bashed on social media for it.

In a statement Saturday (July 18), Go defended his decision to file complaints with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) over unsavory social media posts about him. He said he will exhaust all legal means to go after his bashers.

“Ginagawa ko ito upang turuan ng leksyon ang mga abusado na patas ang pagtingin ng batas sa ating lahat. Pareho po tayong may karapatan magreklamo at pareho tayong humihingi rin ng hustisya. Pero dinadaan ko sa legal na proseso ang aking reklamo para mabigyan rin ang akusado ng pagkakataon sumagot sa patas na paraan,” the senator said.

ABS-CBN News reported that a college student had been summoned by the NBI over a post critical of Go. The senator’s camp confirmed seeking the agency’s help in identifying netizens behind unsavory social media posts about him.

Go’s critics slammed his sensitivity to criticism, tweeting with the hashtag, #TanginaMoBongGo.

The senator said that while he’s open to criticism, he has a reputation and family to protect, too.

“Kung tingin ninyo ay wala kayong ginawang iligal, malinis ang inyong konsensya, at wala kayong inaapi, wala kayong dapat alalahanin o ikatakot. Sagutin ninyo lang ang paratang laban sa inyo at may proseso naman ang batas na poprotekta sa inyong mga karapatang pantao,” Go said.
