The implementation of general community quarantine (GCQ) in several locations through August 31 will only have a “minimal” impact on the economy, according to Malacañang.
Roque reiterated the need to jumpstart the economy by letting more people go back to work.
Last Monday, the government imposed GCQ in Metro Manila and the provinces of Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Rizal until the end of the month.
Other areas under GCQ are the cities of Iloilo, Cebu, Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue, and Talisay; and the towns of Minglanilla and Consolacion in Cebu province.
