Guevarra: task force operations center to be established

The task force led by the Department of Justice (DOJ) will be erecting an operations center, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said on Saturday (Oct. 31).

“We will set up an operations center at the DOJ to receive, filter, and validate complaints and reports of corrupt activities in government,” he said.

Guevarra said this was reached following his meeting with members of the task force on Friday (Oct. 30).

“Our objectives are to investigate and prosecute acts of corruption, expedite the resolution of pending corruption cases, and launch a campaign or advocacy to prevent further acts of corruption,” he stated.

Guevarra said the initial government agencies that will be subjected to the probe will include Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), the Bureau of Customs (BoC), the Land Registration Authority (LRA), and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHeath).

But he assured that we shall also look at other agencies where corruption significantly impacts on the delivery of government services.”
