Senator Koko Pimentel on Wednesday said he doesn’t expect any change in the bilateral ties between the Philippines and the United States as the results of the US presidential elections showed a likely win by Democrat Joe Biden against the incumbent Donald Trump.
“Nothing much will change,” the chair of the Senate foreign relations panel said in a text message to reporters.
“The US has many problems too,” Pimentel said.
“It will have to ‘fix’ itself first,” he added.
Pimentel said the Philippines “just has to continue with our ‘independent foreign policy’ welcoming and treating all States as ‘friends.’”
