There are currently 53 three high-profile inmates of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City who tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Spokesperson Gabriel Chaclag said.
“Lahat sila rapid test-positive at yung iba may mild flu symptoms,” he said.
In the meantime, Chaclag assured all 53 inmates have been taken to quarantine facility called Site Harry from Building 14 of the NBP.
Building 14 is the most secure facility of the NBP and houses high-profile inmates, mostly convicted drug dealers.
While, Site Harry is been set up by the BuCor to hold inmates infected with COVID-19.
It is located also inside NBP and was set up with the assistance of the Department of Health and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
