President Rodrigo Duterte called for patience as the country awaits a vaccine to defeat the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.
In his weekly address late Tuesday, Duterte said that challenges lie ahead in the distribution of Covid-19 vaccines.
“Mga kababayan ko, basta mabakunahan kayo. Kailan? Maghintay lang tayo. Pera? Makahiram tayo kaagad. Ang suplay ang problema. Kung sino iyong country nakapag-imbento, naturalmente unahin niya iyong mga tao niya. That’s the reality of life,” he said.
Duterte sees signs of hope with recent positive developments of Covid-19 vaccine.
“The vaccine is near. There is a hope for mankind. Pero ako, wala pang bakuna ito, hindi na ako takot. Maybe, maybe not, depende sa suwerte mo sa buhay. But for the succeeding generations, mga anak ko, mga apo ko, I am quite confident with the thought that they have a refuge which they can take shelter dito sa Covid storm,” he added.
