Malacañang on Thursday welcomed the 2020 Global Law and Order Report by international analytics firm Gallup which considered the Philippines as among the safest countries in the world.
The Philippines, which obtained a score of 84, ranked 12th among the 144 countries, according to the international survey.
“Nagpapasalamat kami sa ating taumbayan at kahit papano kinilala nila yung prayoridad ng ating Pangulo na panatilihin talaga ang peace and order sa ating lipunan,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a virtual presser.
“Maraming, maraming salamat po at itong kumpyansa na binigay ninyo ay patunay na patuloy tayong nagsusulong maibalik talaga ang peace and order sa ating komunidad,” he further said.
Gallup asked four questions to assess people’s sense of personal security. These include:
-In the city or area where you live, do you have confidence in the local police force?
-Do you feel safe walking alone at night in the city or area where you live?
-Within the last 12 months, have you had money or property stolen from you or another household member?
-Within the past 12 months, have you been assaulted or mugged?
