The government has released P77,982,038,257 to various agencies for their ongoing response to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, President Rodrigo Duterte said in his second report since the implementation of the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act.
Duterte said the amount represents 54.45 percent of the P140 billion appropriations under Bayanihan 2 and is based on the budget requests to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
This includes the following allocations:
*Department of the Interior and Local Government – P2,522,660,000
*Office of Civil Defense – P855,190,418
*Department of Finance-Bureau of the Treasury (DOF-BTr) for Local Government Units – P451,454,250
*Department of Foreign Affairs -P820 million –
*Department of Labor and Employment-Professional Regulation Commission – P2.5 million
*Department of Social Welfare and Development – P6 billion
*Department of Transportation – P9.5 billion
*DOF-BTr for Development Bank of the Philippines – P1 billion
*DOF-BTr for Land Bank of the Philippines – P1 billion
*DOF-BTr for Small Business Corporation – P8,080,098,000
*Philippine Sports Commission – P180 million
*Department of Labor and Employment – P13.1 billion
*Department of Health (DOH) – P20,574,952,000
*Department of Trade and Industry – P100 million
Additional releases were also made to the following agencies, charged against available funding sources under the 2020 appropriations law:
*Department of Public Works and Highways – P994,745,247
*Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process – 28,371,099
*DOH – P730,048,199
Bayanihan 2 replaced the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act, the government’s measure to address the pandemic in the Philippines.
