Walang pasok bukas! Palace suspends classes, gov’t work in NCR, other regions

By Prince Golez

Work in government offices and classes in public schools at all levels in Regions I, II, III, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, V, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the National Capital Region are suspended Friday, Malacañang announced Thursday.

The suspension of work and classes due to bad weather caused by typhoon Ulysses was upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.

In a statement, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said only agencies “whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render their necessary services.”

Suspension of work for private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads, according to Roque.

“We ask the public to continue their regular monitoring of weather advisories and government announcements, try to stay indoors and keep safe and dry,” he added.
