When Mazda chose the Philippines to globally launch the 2021 MX-5, one of the key updates was the availability of a new color: Deep Crystal Blue. At the time, Mazda Philippines could only provide two photos of this new blue color. As other markets start getting it though, we now see how it looks like outside of a studio setting.
As a refresher, Deep Crystal Blue replaces Eternal Blue. Enthusiasts will know that it was an exclusive color only offered on the MX-5 ND’s platform twin, the Fiat 124 Spider. With the “Fiata” ending its production, this new color shade has now become part of the 2021 MX-5 ND’s official palette.
The new exterior color aside, the 2021 MX-5 also gains the option of a white nappa leather interior, confirmed at least three markets: Australia, the United States, and Japan; still no news if the Philippines will offer this new interior color despite the new personalization program. Other external updates include black mirror caps and black alloy wheels, while inside, it gets wireless Apple CarPlay (the Philippines won’t be offering this option, though).
What do you think of the MX-5’s new colorway?
