Duterte, Robredo should first to get COVID vaccine — Locsin

The country’s top two leaders must get the first shot of the coronavirus vaccine.

According to Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr., President Duterte and Vice President Leni Robredo should be the recipients of the vaccines ahead of others. The next vaccine recipients, he added, should be members of Congress and the Supreme Court.

Locsin made the comment as a number of experiential vaccines reached the final clinical stages abroad.

“She & the President should be first, with Congress and the Supreme Court; other officials are superfluous. Plus we’d like to see the effect first,” he tweeted.

Locsin was reacting to a Manila Bulletin article “Like red tide: Leni cool with gov’t officials spearheading COVID vaccination to prove safely.” He said Robredo has more sense than her followers.

“She has superabundantly more sense than her desperate followers who find everything wrong with everything that’s going right,” he said.

The Duterte government has planned to buy to COVID vaccines to be given free to 60 million Filipinos. The priority list includes health workers, cops, soldiers, gov’t frontliners, and poor and vulnerable Filipinos.
