A total of 3,615 housing units under the Yolanda Permanent Housing Projects were recently turned over in Ajuy Iloilo.
Cabinet Secretary Nograles, head of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Unified Implementation and Monitoring of Rehabilitation and Recovery Projects and Programs, led the turnover of housing units for typhoon “Yolanda” victims in a virtual ceremony last December 4.
“This is our biggest online turnover since August. We’re thankful to local government officials and staff led by Mayor Jett Roxas for their full support and cooperation in ensuring this project is finished and the free houses delivered to their constituents,” said Nograles.
The 19th virtual turn over of housing units was made in the following areas: Malayuan People’s Village Site 1, Malayuan People’s Village Site 2, Adcadarao People’s Village, Pili People’s Village Site 1, and Pili People’s Village Site 2.
The secretary expressed gratitude to the regional office of the National Housing Authority, who provided the direction which the local government leaders followed to complete this project despite the challenges brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.
As of October, the NGA said 89,491 of the planned 123,535 housing units for Region 6 have already been completed. The remaining 22,869 units are undergoing construction.
“Despite the pandemic, we will finish all pending Yolanda-related constructions. That’s the clear directive of the President. The Duterte administration acts and provides concrete solutions to the problems facing the people of Region 6. We will continue our work until all the Yolanda housing commitments are concluded,” said Nograles.
