Citing data from the World Health Organization (WHO), Malacañang said the government has done well in managing the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
“I think ang mga figures from the WHO will indicate that we have been managing rather well yung mga COVID cases dito sa Pilipinas,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a televised briefing Thursday.
The Philippines is currently 32nd in terms of Covid-19 cases worldwide and 133rd in terms of cases per million population, Roque said according to the Johns Hopkins University tally.
As for case fatality rate, the country, with a mortality rate of 2.0 percent, ranked 73rd.
As of January 27, the Philippines recorded a total of 518,407 Covid-19 cases, with 475,542 recoveries and 10,481 deaths.
