Palace Spokesman Harry Roque said he’s “bereft of political plans,” contrary to his recent statement that he’s yet to decide whether to seek public office in the next polls.
In a January 23 vlog interview with actress Aiko Melendez, Roque, a former Kabayan representative, said he was unsure about his political plan for 2022.
Last month, the official, however, belied rumors that he was planning to run for a Senate seat, saying he was considering retirement next year.
“Hindi naman po nagbago ‘no. Sabi ko nga para maging epektibo ako bilang tagapagsalita, kinakailangan eh isantabi muna iyang mga planong iyan ‘no at sabihin kung anong kinakailangan sabihin sa taumbayan,” Roque said in a televised briefing Tuesday.
“Kung ikaw kasi ay palaging nanliligaw eh limitado ang iyong puwedeng sabihin, limitado ang iyong aktuwasyon ‘no. Pero ngayon po I think I’ve been liberated, bereft of political plans, I can say what I say and in a manner that I think should be done. So hindi po nagbabago ang ating paninindigan,” he added.
To recall, the spokespeson ran for senator in the 2019 midterm elections but later quit the race due to heart ailment.
