The construction of more skyways would significantly reduce traffic congestion in Metro Manila, President Rodrigo Duterte said.
During the inauguration of the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 (MMSS-3) Project in Quezon City Thursday, Duterte said the elevated expressway built under the Build, Build, Build Program would make life easier for Filipinos in terms of travelling.
“Today, the life of many may not really be very, very comfortable. But ang hiningi ko lang naman komportable lang na buhay. And if this will continue, the planned Skyways and more, then we will be freed of the horrendous traffic congestion that is obtaining in all cities, crowded cities in the world,” he said.
The 18-kilometer Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 from Buendia, Makati City to Balintawak, Quezon City will reduce travel time from North Luzon Expressway to South Luzon Expressway from two hours to only 30 minutes.
Also Makati to Quezon City can be reached in 20 minutes as the new expressway redirects 55,000 motorists from the congested EDSA traffic daily.
The Skyway Stage 3 project has seven available ramps located along Buendia Northbound On Ramp and Southbound Off Ramp; Plaza Dilao Southbound On Ramp; Quezon Avenue Northbound and Southbound On and Off Ramp; and Balintawak Northbound Off Ramp and Southbound On Ramp.
A total of P44.66 billion funded under the Public-Private Partnership Program was allotted for the completion of this project.
