This is Your First Look at Geely's Volvo-Based 7-Seater SUV

Geely has given the world its first glimpse of its biggest SUV yet, one that’s headed to production by the third quarter of this year.

Codenamed “KX11,” this CMA-based SUV—the same one that underpins the Volvo XC40, Xingyue SUV, and Preface sedan, is said to have have external dimensions close to the Okavango SUV. Unlike Geely’s current 7-seater offering though, this new model is expected to be speced towards a more premium space.

Not much is known about its features, but given the level of connectivity shown by the Preface (which incidentally, is China’s Car of the Year), expect this new SUV to gain the same features such as Over the Air (OTA) updates.

OTA allows Geely to continuously update the vehicle systems allowing for increased functionality, efficiency, and overall performance updates. These may include improves to its driver assist technology, optimized/enhanced displays, and more.

In terms of powertrain, given that it shares the CMA platform, the same family of three- and four-cylinder engines are expected in traditional, mild-, and even plug-in hybrid flavors.
