The travel ban to the Philippines from the 35 countries with confirmed cases of the new coronavirus (Covid-19) variant won’t take too long, Malacañang said Monday.
But, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases will have the last say whether the travel ban needs to be extended.
“Meron na tayong bagong health protocols na sinusunod na yung first day, PCR test atsaka yung fifth day, PCR. Pero kinakailangan kumpletuhin pa rin ang 14-day (quarantine),” said Roque.
“So, I would say that is a hopeful signal na baka naman po hindi na masyado pa tatagal ang travel ban sa 35 countries,” he added.
The government earlier extended the travel restrictions through the end of January.
