Continue selling pork, Palace appeals to vendors

By Prince Golez

Malacañang on Monday urged vendors to continue selling pork amid calls for a “pork holiday” to protest the implementation of the price ceiling in Metro Manila.

In a televised briefing, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque assured them of support in the form of pork imports from non-African swine fever areas.

The government, Roque added, will also provide a transport subsidy to help defray the expenses of raisers shipping their pork products to Metro Manila.

“Sinusuportahan po natin yung advocacy na alternative pork sources,” according to him.

“Pero nakikusap po kami sa ating mga nagtitinda, sana po ipagpatuloy ninyo ang pagtitinda ng baboy,” he also said.
