President Rodrigo Duterte has signed into law a measure that will establish the Covid-19 Vaccination Program and expedite the Covid-19 vaccine procurement process.
This was confirmed by Duterte’s long time aide and Senator Christopher Go Friday evening.
The Covid-19 Vaccination Program Act of 2021 creates an indemnification fund for vaccine takers who would experience severe side effects.
It also allows local governments and private entities to buy vaccines through a multiparty agreement that includes the national government and the vaccine manufacturer.
Under the new law, priority to be vaccinated against Covid-19 include health care workers, senior citizens, economic frontliners, and essential workers. (Photo by SBG)
