Duterte studying proposal to place whole PH under MGCQ in March

By Prince Golez

President Rodrigo Duterte is studying the recommendation of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) to place the entire country under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) starting March 1, his spokesman Harry Roque said.

Acting NEDA chief Karl Chua made the proposal during a televised meeting with Duterte and some Cabinet members late Monday as he cited the need to recover from the economic impact of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Meanwhile, Chua also proposed to increase the operational capacity of public transportation from 50 percent to 75 percent, expand the age group allowed to go out, and resume pilot testing of face-to-face classes in areas with low Covid-19 risk.
