Religious allowed up to 50% venue capacity in GCQ areas starting Feb. 15

By Prince Golez

Beginning Monday, religious mass gatherings are allowed up to 50 percent capacity in areas under General Community Quarantine, Malacañang announced Friday.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases has agreed to relax restrictions on mass gatherings for religious activities in GCQ areas starting February 15.

“Inaprubahan po ng inyong IATF ang pag relax o pagluwag ng restrictions sa mga relihiyosong pagtitipon o religious gatherings sa mga lugar na nasa ilalim ng General Community Quarantine simula Lunes a-kinse ng Pebrero,” Roque said in an interview over state-run PTV.

“Pinapayagan na sa mga lugar na nasa GCQ ang religious service na hanggang 50 percent ng seating or venue capacity,” he added.

Previously, religious gatherings in GCQ areas were allowed only up to 30 percent of their seating capacity.
