Tatalino ba bata sa sine? Imee Marcos prefers resumption of face-to-face classes over reopening of movie theaters

Senator Imee Marcos would rather that the government prioritize the resumption of face-to-face classes over allowing cinemas and gaming arcades to reopen.

Marcos questioned the wisdom of the decision of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) to allow places of leisure to reopen in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Malacanang announced earlier in the day that the reopening of cinemas in GCQ areas has been deferred to March pending the release of guidelines on COVID-19 safety protocols.

Several Metro Manila mayors have opposed the reopening of movie theaters in the region, saying it could lead to a spike in COVID-19 cases.
