Vice President Leni Robredo is still undecided about running for president six months before the filing of certificates of candidacy for the 2022 elections, Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon said Tuesday (March 30).
In an interview over ANC’s “Headstart,” Drilon said the Liberal Party (LP) has yet to meet to discuss who it will field as a standard bearer in next year’s polls.
“Right now, there is no question Vice President Leni Robredo, to us, is the most qualified to be the next president. She is our chairman. We will support her but the matter of running is a personal decision and up to this point Vice President Leni Robredo has not decided to cast her hat in the national political race,” he said.
Robredo previously said she is considering running for governor of Camarines Sur because she’s more attuned to local politics.
The Vice President is among the politikos being considered by the opposition coalition 1Sambayan to run for president.
