President Rodrigo Duterte has signed a law reapportioning the second district of Rizal into three legislative districts.
Republic Act No. (RA) 11533 divides the second congressional district of Rizal into three “to take effect in the 2022 national and local elections.”
Each legislative district shall be composed of the following municipalities:
Second Legislative District
-Cordona
-Baras
-Tanay
-Morong
-Jala-jala
-Pililia
-Teresa
Third Legislative District
-San Mateo
Fourth Legislative District
-Rodriguez
Section 2 of RA 11533 provides that the Commission on Elections should issue the necessary implementing rules and regulations within 30 days after the effectivity of the Act.
Duterte signed the measure last March 25, 2021.
