By Prince Golez

President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases to ease the community quarantine restriction in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal.

In a virtual presser Sunday, Duterte’s spokesman Harry Roque announced that the National Capital Region and four nearby provinces have been placed under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) from April 12 to April 30.

Also placed under MECQ are the city of Santiago in Quirino province and Abra.

Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Batangas, Tacloban City, Iligan City, Davao City, Lanao del Sur and Quezon province will be placed under general community quarantine (GCQ) until the end of April.

The rest of the country, meanwhile, would stay under the least restrictive modified GCQ.
