President Rodrigo Duterte will still receive his second dose of Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine despite ordering China to pull out its donation of 1,000 doses, according to Malacañang.
The China-made vaccine requires two doses taken 21 to 28 days apart.
‘Hindi ibabalik iyong pang-second dose ni Presidente para matapos niya ang second dose niya,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a virtual presser Thursday.
Duterte received his first shot of Sinopharm jab last Monday. Health Secretary Francisco Duque III administered the vaccine to the country’s chief executive.
On Wednesday, the President apologized for getting inoculated with Sinopharm’s Covid-19 vaccine despite the absence of an emergency use authorization from the Food and Drug Administration
He, however, insisted that the government has allowed the anti-Covid-19 vaccine to be used for compassionate use.
