It was “vaccine day” for this power politiko couple.
Senate President Tito Sotto and wife Helen Gamboa got vaccinated Saturday, opting not to choose the brand of the medication.
Sotto, 71, received the first shot of the Sinovac coronavirus vaccine at the inoculation drive held at the Senate office. His wife Helen also got the COVID-19 jab afterwards.
“Hindi kami namili ng vaccine, basta sabi ko kung ano ang available yun ang gamitin,” the senator said in a Facebook post.
“As senior citizens, it’s a blessing to get vaccinated regardless of the brand,” he said.
Senior citizens are the second priority group in the government’s vaccination program. Health workers come first while people with pre-existing health conditions rank third in line.
