President Rodrigo Duterte has expressed interest in running for vice president in 2022.
In his weekly public address on Monday, Duterte said running in the vice presidential elections won’t be a bad idea.
“It’s not at all bad idea. If there’s space for me, then siguro. Pero kung wala akong space, everybody is crowding up, wanting to be one, sila na lang muna kasi tapos na ako,” according to him.
The Chief Executive added that there are things he wants to continue after his term ends “and that would depend on the president I would support.”
Duterte previously said he won’t run for the vice presidency should House Majority Leader and Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez decide to run for the same post.
