Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said he would only vie for a comeback in Congress should Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte run for president in the 2022 national elections.

In an interview over ANC’s Headstart, Roque said he is praying that Sara, daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte, will join the presidential race next year.

“I would run with the administration, but I think I will only run if Mayor Inday Sara will run for the position of president,” according to the Palace official.

“As a card-bearing member of the (People’s Reform Party), the party of Miriam Defensor-Santiago, it is Inday Sara, who, I believe, has the same qualities as Miriam Defensor-Santiago to become president. I’m one of those who are praying that Mayor Sara will in fact seek the presidency,” he furthered.

In yesterday’s virtual presser, Roque, who took part in the 2019 senatorial race but withdrew due to health condition, said he is still pondering about running for senator in the upcoming polls.
