Kayo ang boss ko! Ex-SC spox: Accountability is Noynoy’s legacy

The late former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III will be remembered for showing that the government should always be accountable to the people, former Supreme Court (SC) spokesperson Theodore Te said.

Te pointed out in his latest Twitter post that Aquino always upheld his mantra “kayo ang boss ko!.”

“This insightful reminder that sovereignty resides with the people and public accountability is owed to them is what I will remember of #PNoy,” Te stated

“He wasn’t perfect, no one is; but he clearly loved this country and served it as best he could; everything beyond that was pure gift,” he pointed out.

Te joined a number of former and current officials of the Supreme Court (SC) who expressed sadness over the passing of Aquino.

Among them, former chief justice Maria Lourdes Sereno said that Aquino never forced to his will independent institutions.

Some of our presidents will be remembered for how they tried to subject independent institutions to conform to their will; in contrast, President Aquino will be remembered for how he invested in the long-term strengthening of institutions of justice and accountability,” she said.
