Roque to 1Sambayan: ‘I wish them the best of luck’

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque wished the opposition coalition 1Sambayan “the best of luck” after it released a list of nominees for president and vice president for the 2022 national elections.

“Dalawa lang naman po yata ang tumanggap – si (Vice President Leni) Robredo at saka si dating Senador Sonny Trillanes. So I wish them the best of luck,” Roque said in an interview on Unang Balita Monday.

“Pero mukhang mahirap talaga ang kawsa ng 1Sambayan kasi karamihan ng kanilang ni-nominate ay tumanggi ng nominasyon,” he added.

On Saturday, 1Sambayan, a group formed by retired Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio Carpio, former Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario, and former Ombudsman Conchia Carpio-Morales, bared six names of nominees for their presidential and vice presidential candidates in next year’s polls.

They were Robredo, Trillanes, Senator Grace Poe, lawyer Chel Diokno, CIBAC party-list representative Eddie Villanueva, and Batangas Representative Vilma Santos-Recto.
