Sure ball! Roque confident that Duterte is going to win in 2022

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque believes that President Rodrigo Duterte will win the vice presidential race should he decide to run next year.

“Ako po’y sang-ayon naman po doon,” Roque said in response to the statement of Senator Imee Marcos that Duterte is sure to win.

The Palace official, in an interview with RMN Wednesday, said the President’s trust and satisfaction ratings remain high despite the criticisms on his administration.

“Talagang malinaw naman po na sa anim na buwan na nakita ko ang datos, hindi po bumaba sa 90-91 ang trust at satisfaction rating ng ating Presidente bagama’t napakaingay ng kaniyang mga kritiko,” according to him.

Roque, however, clarified that Duterte has yet to decide whether he will gun for the vice presidency in 2022.

“Ang pag-uusapan nga lang po ngayon ay sino ang magiging running mate, kung tatakbong presidente. Pero hindi pa nga po nagdidesisyon ang Presidente; ang sabi naman po niya ay pag-iisipan pa po niya,” he said.

“Hindi pa po nagdidesisyon ang Presidente kung siya ay tatakbo ng vice president… So siguro po, antayin muna natin ang kaniyang desisyon kung siya ay tatakbo bago natin tanungin kung sino iyong magiging ulo niya,” he added.

Last Monday, the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan adopted a resolution to convince Duterte to run for the second highest government post.

The resolution approved during the party’s national council meeting in Cebu City also urged the country’s chief executive to choose his running mate.
