Task Force to discuss proposed lifting of face shield rule – Nograles

The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases has yet to discuss the proposed removal of face shields in public, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said.

“We will run this through the IATF meeting later,” Nograles told CNN Philippines Thursday.

The IATF co-chair was reacting to a recent tweet of Senate President Vicente Sotto III that said President Rodrigo Duterte agreed that face shields should only be used in hospitals.

“Last night, the President agreed that face shields should only be used in hospitals. Allowed us to remove ours! [Attention] DOH!” Sotto wrote on Twitter.

Malacañang earlier said that the use of face shields provides additional protection against Covid-19.
