Health Secretary Francisco Duque III on Tuesday took the lead in the ceremonial vaccination of economic frontliners under the A4 category in Central Luzon at the Clark Freeport in Pampanga.
The Cabinet official joined other government officials like presidential spokesman Harry Roque, Secretary Vince Dizon, Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda and Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo during the event held at the Luen Thai garments factory.
Also in attendance were Clark Development Corp. (CDC) chair Edgardo Pamintuan, CDC president and CEO Manuel Gaerlan and Luen Thai president Frank Sauceda.
Some 12 million Filipinos have been inoculated against Covid-19, as of Tuesday, according to Duque, who expressed confidence that the country would have herd immunity by December.
Dizon, for his part, said the government was now vaccinating Filipinos at a rate of one million people per four days. He said he expects vaccine supply to be steady as demand for the jabs is no longer as strong in many developed countries.
