“Bahala na sila.”
That was Senator Manny Pacquiao’s message to Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi and his PDP-Laban group after they ousted the boxer-politician as party president by declaring all positions vacant and installing a new set of officers on Saturday.
The PDP-Laban reorganization took place at Clark, Pampanga, without the participation of Pacquiao his ally, former PDP-Laban president and Senator Koko Pimentel, and the rest of their faction.
Pacquiao, who is in the United States to train for a fight next month, expressed sadness that Cusi’s group was set on politicking despite the grave problems facing the nation.
“Nakakalungkot na nakapasok na ang Delta variant sa Pilipinas at kapag hindi maagapan, marami ang maaaring mahawa. Ito dapat ang prioridad ng ating gobyerno,” he said in a statement sent through his camp.
“Kung sa tingin nila Cusi at iba pa na mas importante ang politika sa ngayon, bahala na sila. Sa huli, isa lang naman ang tanong na dapat sagutin. Sino ba ang sasamahan ng taong bayan?” Pacquiao said.
