President Rodrigo Duterte still wants officials and personnel of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) who are linked to the “pastillas scheme” fired, Malacañang said Thursday.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque made the comment after Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said the BI employees involved in the bribery scheme have returned to work after serving their six-month preventive suspension.
In his last State of the Nation Address last Monday, Duterte boasted that he sacked officials who allegedly allowed Chinese citizens to enter the Philippines without a visa in exchange for money.
