‘Di na naawa! LTFRB slammed for paltry spending on PUV drivers

By Billy Begas

Bayan Muna Rep. Ferdinand Gaite on Friday condemned the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) for utilizing only 1% of the P5.58 billion funds allocated for public utility drivers last year.

Gaite made the statement after the Commission on Audit released its findings on the funds allocated for the LTFRB in 2020.

In this time of worsening hunger, joblessness, and poverty, Gaite said “it’s unacceptable, it is criminal.”

Gaite said that it seems that departments under the executive are intentionally withholding COVID-19 funds.

He also linked the withholding of funds to the 2022 elections.
