Malampaya shutdown in October won’t affect power supply, vax storage: Palace

By Prince Golez

The scheduled 20-day turnaround shutdown of the Malampaya gas field in October won’t lead to brownouts that may affect Covid-19 vaccine cold storage facilities, Malacañang said Monday.

Citing Energy Undersecretary Wimpy Fuentebella, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque assured the availability of power supply once Malampaya goes offline in the coming months.

“Ang maganda naman pong balita ay we are having this closure of Malapaya in the month of [October].

The scheduled maintenance at the Malampaya facilities will be from October 2 to 22.
