Palace to study proposed ‘transportation bubbles’

By Prince Golez

Malacañang on Monday said it would study the proposed deployment of buses and other forms of public transportation exclusively for vaccinated passengers.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque issued the statement of Marikina Second District Rep. Stella Quimbo that “transportation bubbles” are needed to allow more workplaces to operate.

“Pag-aralan po yan. Yan po ay siguro pormal na isusumite sa (Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases). Pag-aaralan po ng technical working group at pagdedesisyunan,” Roque said during a televised briefing.

Last month, Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion III proposed the rolling out of buses for vaccinated commuters “to ensure that every passenger can safely traverse from their homes to workplaces, and vice-versa.”

Concepcion also suggested separate spaces for the vaccinated and unvaccinated in workplaces.
