Former Senator Bongbong Marcos’ loyalists are showing support for their idol through art.
Since the former lawmaker announced his presidential bid in the 2022 elections, several netizens have painted Marcos and shared some of the portraits online. One of the photos posted by Marcos shows his image carved on a leaf.
After seeing the tribute artwork, Marcos thanked his supporters, saying he is blown away by the talent and creativity of Filipinos.
“Maraming salamat sa mga ipinapadala ninyong mga artworks. Ako ay namamangha sa inyong husay at talento,” he said on Instagram. “Ang galing ng Pilipino!” he said.
Bongbong launched a controversial presidential bid for the first time since the ouster of his father the late President Ferdinand Marcos in 1986. His presidential run has drawn negative reaction from right advocates and other sectors denouncing the corruption and abuses during the martial law regime.
