Eat to beat stress: Samira Gutoc craves comfort food in Quiapo

Senatorial aspirant Samira Gutoc had some pretty “harsh” past few days. The stressful period triggered a hankering for her favorite comfort food in downtown Manila.

Gutoc, a Marawi civic leader, visited a local restaurant in Quiapo, Manila to seek her favorite food. Her stopover was Rizza’s Food Haus.

“As the past days have been harsh to me, I went to one of my favorite places in Quiapo, Manila which is Rizza’s Food Haus. They serve halal, & delicious food; very effective in combatting stress. Check them out!” she tweeted.

Gutoc recently decided to stay in Aksyon Demokratiko despite feeling dismayed with standard bearer Mayor Isko Moreno’s criticisms towards Vice President Leni Robredo and “Otso Diretso” Senate team she was part of in 2019. The senatorial slated, endorsed by the Liberal Party, lost in the 2019 elections.

“Gaya ng pahayag ko palagi, wala po akong makinarya para sagutin lahat ng mga pagpuna ninyo sa aking pagsapi sa Aksyon Demokratiko. Hindi po ako nagbago. Hindi po ako kumalas,” she said.

Gutoc, in her fresh Senate bid, said she is running on a platform that promotes the welfare of women, children, and ordinary workers.

“Ang isinusulong ko sa aming partido ay mas lalo pang paigtingin ang mga adbokasiya ko para sa kababaihan, kabataan at karaniwang manggagawa. Para sa taumbayan po ang pag kandidato ni Samira Gutoc. Salamat po sa inyong suporta at pang unawa,” she said.
