ABS-CBN reportedly isn’t keen on accepting Noli De Castro back as an anchor after he backed out of the 2022 senatorial race, Politiko has learned.
A source told Politiko that ABS-CBN bosses are firm on their decision to make Karen Davila the third anchor of the network’s flagship newscast, TV Patrol.

And since ABS-CBN is maximizing its resources to survive the absence of a franchise, it’s more prudent for the network to groom young reporters to take over the time slot vacated by De Castro’s “Kabayan” radio show than pay him a hefty salary to be back.
De Castro announced Wednesday (October 13) his withdrawal from the senatorial race, barely a week after he formalized his candidacy.

The seasoned broadcaster was supposed to run under Aksyon Demokratiko, as part of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno’s senatorial slate.
De Castro cited personal reasons for backing out of the senatorial race but didn’t elaborate.
