Malacañang has denied reports that former Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) chief Vince Dizon has joined the camp of presidential aspirant Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno.
“There is no truth to the reports circulating that Secretary Vivencio ‘Vince’ Dizon allegedly joined the campaign team of a presidential aspirant,” acting presidential spokesperson and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said in a statement Thursday.
Nograles said that Dizon is still part of the Cabinet as adviser for Covid-19 response.
“Sec. Dizon is focused on the vaccination efforts of the government, and not with any political campaign,” the Palace official added.
Moreno’s campaign strategist Lito Banayo earlier said that Dizon will serve as deputy campaign manager and head of statistical research of their team.
Dizon, also the government’s testing czar and chief deputy implementer of the National Task Force Against Covid-19, resigned as BCDA president and chief executive officer on October 15.
