Palace lauds PH ranking in global Covid-19 recovery index

By Prince Golez

Malacañang on Tuesday welcomed the country’s high ranking in Nikkei Asia’s latest Covid-19 Recovery Index.

The results of a recovery index showed that as of November 30, 2021, the Philippines climbed 46 spots from 103rd to 57th place.

“This index is a clear indication that we have successfully contained the highly transmissible delta variant,” acting presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles said in his virtual presser.

Nograles also urged Filipinos to stay vigilant during the holiday season when everyone is expected to meet their loved ones.

“We can see the light at the end of the tunnel but the only way that we can get to the end is if we continue to carefully watch our steps,” the Cabinet Secretary said.

“Ituloy po natin ang mask wearing, ang paghuhugas ng kamay, ang social distancing at ang pagpabakuna. Let’ us do this not just for ourselves but especially for our loved ones,” he added.
