Senatorial aspirant Harry Roque doesn’t want to return to his old job as presidential spokesperson.

Should he fail to win a senatorial seat in the 2022 elections, Roque said he would never work as a spokesman again.

“Let’s just say, I will never be spokesperson for anyone else… Tingnan mo naman, I look so much younger now. Come on,” the former spokesperson of President Rodrigo Duterte told ANC’s Headstart Monday.

Being Duterte’s mouthpiece for more than 2 years was “the most difficult job,” according to him.

“You had to be on your toes. You’re dealing with the media and the nature of the media is not to be footsie-footsie, especially with the most powerful official of the land,” said Roque.

“I always have to absorb all my briefing. You always have to be aware of what is happening nationally, internationally. There was really no occasion that you could claim ignorance. So, you needed to be ahead of the news,” he added.
