President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to announce the fate of Metro Manila’s lockdown today, May 28.
“[President Duterte] will announce tonight,” according to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
Roque also refused to verify the accuracy of a supposed copy of a new resolution recommending Metro Manila to be placed under general community quarantine (GCQ) from June 1 to 15.
“Classified as high-to-moderate-risk areas, all HUCs of the National Capital Region (NCR) and the Municipality of Pateros shall be placed under GCQ. However, all identified high-risk barangays within the NCR shall be subject to the zoning concept to be implemented by the National Task Force on Covid-19,” a portion of Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease Resolution No. 40 read.
The task force also recommended that Covid-19 Special Team be activated in Quezon City, Manila City, Parañaque City, and Cebu City “for surveillance and action in high-risk barangays.”
