Former Senator Francis Escudero is asking the public to take health precautions with an assumption that everyone is infected with the new coronavirus disease.
Escudero, now governor of Sorsogon, made the appeal as the government eases lockdown restrictions implemented to slow down the spread of the coronavirus since March.
“The virus is still out there and there is still no vaccine. Nothing has changed from the beginning,” he said.
Even as the country removes many of the restrictions, he told the public about the responsibility to help ensure health and safety.
“We are opening up for the sake of the economy and people’s jobs and livelihood. The responsibility now rests on each and every one of us! Assume that everyone is positive,” he said.
More business will open and limited public transportation will be allowed as Metro Manila and several areas implement a more relaxed general community quarantine from June 1 to 15. The larger part of the country will be downgraded to modified GCQ, a step closer to the new normal scenario.
The virus is still out there & there is still no vaccine. Nothing has changed from the beginning. We are opening up for the sake of the economy & people’s jobs & livelihood. The responsibility now rests on each & every one of us!! Assume that everyone is positive… #staysafe.
